Rostropovich Foundation “Fund to support young talented musicians”

In l997, Mstislav Rostropovich established the Rostropovich Foundation in Moscow, a charitable foundation of commemorative scholarships to honor great Russian musicians with whom he had enjoyed a long and fruitful friendship. Currently, there are 43 Rostropovich scholarship students from all over Russia. The Foundation strives to identify, support and encourage a new generation of world-class musicians by providing gifted young students with the tools and resources needed to help them reach their highest potential. Students receive financial assistance, help with living accommodations, instruments, if necessary, counseling and other exceptional educational and training opportunities, such as master-classes with renowned teachers and musicians. The Foundation is solely dependent on the generosity of private individuals, organizations and corporations to continue its investment in gifted young musicians
